A 5 minute walk from our flat takes you to the royal residence at Kensington Palace (left), London home of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, which is surrounded by the lovely Kensington Gardens.
Another 10 minutes walk through the gardens, towards Hyde Park, and you reach the Royal Albert Hall (right)
and the nearby statue of Prince Albert (left).

It is easy to walk to nearby museums and galleries (top right) in South Kensington, or a little further through the Royal parks to the Houses of Parliament (bottom right), the busy shopping centre of Oxford Street and the theatre district of the West End. Current and forthcoming shows can be found here, or at other similar websites.
Also within walking distance is the famous Portobello Road Market, which is nice to browse through on a sunny afternoon.
At White City (a half-hour walk or 10 minute bus journey) the Westfield Shopping Centre is an attractive alternative to the West End for shopping.
