Arriving in London

Visitors to London arriving by air usually arrive at either Heathrow or Gatwick airports. Central London is then just a short journey away.

From Gatwick Airport, a train or slightly faster (but more expensive) Gatwick Express takes about 30 minutes to reach Victoria Station. A Circle Line tube (underground) from Victoria, or a No 52 bus from just outside the station, will then take you to Kensington in around 20 minutes.

From Heathrow Airport, the Heathrow Express brings you into Paddington Station in 15 minutes, where again you can catch a Circle Line tube just 3 stops to High Street Kensington. Alternatively, a Piccadilly Line tube from Heathrow Airport takes you to Earl’s Court station, and a change to the district line (towards Edgware Road) brings you one stop to High Street Kensington station - about 50 minutes total journey time.

We’ll let you have exact details of how to find our flat - it’s an easy walk continuing from the directions above.

Underground maps can be found at this site.

It’s easy to get around on London buses and tubes. Cash isn’t taken in the centre of London, but you can either use an Oyster Card (a pre-paid swipe card, which can be ‘topped up’ at most tube stations and elsewhere) or a contactless card. Details are on the TFL website here.
